A 100-level Medical Laboratory student of Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, Favour Robinson, has won a brand-new car valued as MTN Nigeria brought its Live It 100 On Campus experience to the university, treating students to activities, games, music, a movie night and an array of gift items.
The three-day activation, held from Wednesday, October 14, to Friday, October 16, 2026, featured several engagement activities and giveaways, including laptops, refrigerators, microwaves and other items, as part of MTN’s youth engagement drive.
Reacting to her win, Robinson thanked MTN Nigeria for the opportunity, expressing how much the prize meant to her and her family. Describing her surprise when her name was announced, she said, “When they were calling other winners, I told myself it couldn’t be me. I was shocked when they called the last number and heard my name. I want to say a very big thank you to MTN Nigeria for making this possible, especially for my parents.”
The Senior Manager, Segment Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Temilolu Salako, said the activation reflected the company’s commitment to creating rewarding experiences for its customers, with students remaining an important audience for its business.
He explained that the programme was designed to provide students with entertainment and some relief from the demands of academic life, while also creating opportunities for student entrepreneurs to promote and sell their products on campus. “We organised this programme to support students, ease some of the pressures associated with academic life and provide entertainment. We also created a platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products to fellow students,” he said.
Salako also highlighted MTN’s education-focused offerings, which include education-specific bundles, binge bundles and social media bundles for platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat. He noted that the company’s night bundles also provide students with an option for research and other online academic activities.
He added that the MTN Foundation offers scholarships for science and technology students, and the blind. The company is also partnering with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide data support for students using educational platforms.
The activation also received commendation from the university community. The Dean of Students’ Affairs, ABSU, Professor Dick Uduma, welcomed MTN’s decision to include ABSU in the initiative, saying the initiative could encourage student entrepreneurship and increase the university’s visibility.
Victor Uzoma, President of the ABSU Student Union Government, highlighted the programme’s practical value to students, particularly its data management education and the provision of affordable routers.
Another student, Chibuike Favour Onyinyechi of the Nursing Department, won a laptop during the activation.
Beyond the giveaways, Live It 100 On Campus provided a platform for students to engage with MTN through entertainment, practical learning and opportunities to showcase their entrepreneurial interests.
