Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has declared his intention to contest the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
Obasa made the declaration on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Agege ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
He said consultations with party leaders and stakeholders informed his decision to formally join the race.
“I answered the call of our leaders and stakeholders who believe I can better serve the people of Agege,” Obasa said.
The Speaker also appealed for support for Ganiyu Egunjobi, former chairman of Agege Local Government Area, who is seeking to represent Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“Egunjobi has served our people diligently and deserves the support of all loyal party members,” he said.
Obasa further canvassed support for Azeez Ninolowo, an aspirant for Agege Constituency II.
“We must present candidates with capacity, loyalty, and commitment to the progress of Agege,” he added.
