Popular Nigerian singer, Simi, has weighed in on the recent controversial incident involving Ibom Air and a passenger, Comfort Emmanson.
A video recently surfaced on social media showing a scuffle between Ibom Air flight crew and Emmanson, during which she was forcibly removed from the aircraft. In the process, her blouse was displaced, exposing her breasts. The video quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and conversations online.
Reacting to the incident via her Instagram story, Simi expressed deep anger over the invasion of Emmanson’s privacy, particularly condemning the circulation of the video showing the passenger in a vulnerable and indecent state.
Simi called for immediate sanctions against the airport personnel responsible for leaking the footage, emphasizing that such behavior was unethical and dehumanizing.
She said; “Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, recorded her being exposed like that, and then posted it without editing out this exposure or blurring it out.”
“I personally want to know who posted that video and why no one is holding him/her accountable. Because they will face the law.”
“But voluntarily posting her half-naked for millions of people to see when less than 10 people actually witnessed it in the first place deserves punishment too because you cannot condemn one madness and leave another one.”
