Famous Nollywood actor and movie director, Afeez Owo, has finally opened up about the reported separation from his wife, actress Mide Martins, which caused a stir on social media several years ago.
The news first broke in April 2016 when Mide Martins posted that her husband had moved out of their matrimonial home following an argument. She said, “About three months ago, after a minor argument concerning the well-being of his children, he moved out.”
Speaking on the incident during an interview recently, Afeez Owo, lamented that social media nearly destroyed their marriage.
He said; “The news of our separation went viral. And the fight became our first and the last fight as a couple. It was very serious but we later reconciled.”
“I think I didn’t handle it well because I angrily left the house after we had a misunderstanding.”
“Although, my intention was to spend two nights at a hotel and return home, but after she accused me of leaving the house, I now decided to stay away for more days.”
“She eventually came to apologise, and we reconciled. It was an issue we should have resolved between ourselves, but Social media made the matter escalate even more.”
