There’s no denying that the words we hear can either make or break us. This is true for popular Nigerian singer, Oludipe David, professionally known as Spyro, who revealed that he lived in constant fear of failure because his father repeatedly told him he was a failure.
The singer made this candid revelation during an interview with renowned media personality, Frank Edoho.
Spyro said; “I thought I was going to die broke. I always had this fear of failure. And my dad contributed to that. He took every opportunity he got to always tell me that I am a failure.”
“I was able to overcome my fear of failure after developing a personal relationship with God.”
“I was on the verge of giving up on music and have already ventured into interior design before my breakthrough song ‘Who Is Your Guy’ went viral in 2022.”
The singer rose to fame with his hit song ‘Who Is Your Guy’, but it was the 2023 remix featuring Tiwa Savage that cemented his stardom. The track went on to win Best Collaboration at the 16th Headies Awards.
