President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a strong affirmation of his visionary leadership and the trust the people of Anambra have in his administration.

In a statement released on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s governorship election — which makes him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term — reflected the people’s appreciation of his development strides and commitment to good governance.

“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State. The overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term,” the President said.

Tinubu also commended the people of Anambra, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and credible conduct of the election.

According to him, Soludo’s re-election was a testament to the progress Anambra has achieved under his leadership, anchored on knowledge, accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.

“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that indeed knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency and prudent management of people and resources,” Tinubu stated.

The President recalled his visit to Anambra in May 2025, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration. He described the experience as “remarkable and indelible,” noting that the projects reflected sound planning and purposeful governance.

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” he added.

Tinubu urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents in building a united and progressive Anambra State. He also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s readiness to continue partnering with the state for development.

“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” the President said.

The President further noted that the success of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (AGPA) in the election underscored the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy, where competent and hardworking leaders can earn the people’s mandate regardless of party affiliation.

He also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting a credible poll, urging the commission to maintain and improve on its performance to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.

President Tinubu concluded by emphasizing that Soludo’s re-election was not just a personal victory, but a victory for visionary leadership and the democratic spirit of the Anambra people.
