Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday (NBS) has made a startling revelation. She disclosed that early in her career, she was given a script that required her to sleep with a dog.
Although it was supposed to be her first movie role, she turned it down but, according to her, others accepted the role.
She made this shocking revelation in a recent interview where she discussed the challenges she faced in the movie industry.
She said; “Despite being a newcomer, I was given a script to sleep with a dog. I rejected it because I can’t start off my career like that. Imagine my first ever movie, I am sleeping with a dog. It doesn’t make sense. It is going to be a tag because whatever you start with is what people would associate you with. I didn’t want to be renowned as someone who sleeps with dogs in movies.”
“So, I rejected that script. But immediately I threw it down, so many girls grabbed it. I’m not sure any of them are in the limelight today.”
“After I left the production venue, I met veteran Nollywood filmmaker, Emeka Duru, who offered to work with me.”
“Duru eventually gave me the opportunity to make my debut in the film ‘Through The Fire’ by Imem Isong.”
