Nwadioranma Akokwa Buries Father

Come Thursday, April 9, 2026, all roads will lead to the Nnaji family of Umuezedike village Okwara in Akokwa North local government area, Imo State as Chief Chijioke Nnaji (Nwadioranma Akokwa) gives his late dad, Chief Donatus Unakanamba Nnaji (Ojenawayo Akokwa) a grand burial.

Aged 94, till his death Ojenawayo was one of the respected elders and community leaders in Akokwa. A release by his industrialist son and CEO of Daily Manna Bakery Aba/Lagos, Chief Chijioke Nnaji, indicates that his father’s rites of passage commenced on Monday, the 30th of March, 2026 with service of songs at the deceased Aba residence. This will be followed by a burial mass at CKC parish Okwara Akokwa on Thursday, April 9, 2023 after which internment immediately takes place at his country home.

A Thanksgiving mass in the late Chief Nnaji’s honour holds on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the CKC Parish, Okwara, Akokwa.

Speaking about his late father, Nwadioranma Akokwa said: “I still don’t know how to accept that you’re gone. It feels like a part of me left with you. You were my strength, my guide, and the quiet voice that always knew what to say when I was lost.

“Dad. I will walk the path you showed me, even when it’s hard. And though I can’t see you anymore, I will feel you with me in everything I do.Rest well, my hero”

Apart from Nwadioranma Akokwa, the late Chief Nnaji is survived by children, grand children, great grand children, cousins among others including Mrs Obiageri Juliana Ihionu, Mrs Nkechi Justina Nnanna, Mr Osita Michael Nnaji, Mr Uwaezuoke Paul Nnaji, Justice Uchenna Nnaji, Mrs Nkeiru Nnanna Okoro and others too numerous to mention.
