Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.

This comes amid efforts by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to strengthen the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections through an alliance with the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).

The PDP and APM on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Seyi Bamidele signed the MoU on behalf of the PDP, while Oladele Oyadeji signed on behalf of the APM.

Governor Makinde and the National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Dantalle, also endorsed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
