Former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general election, Peter Obi, has reportedly come under attack in Benue State.
Obi’s media aide, Esther Umoh, disclosed this on Tuesday in a post on her X handle, where she shared a video purportedly showing a group of armed youths chasing the former governor’s entourage. Another video showed a road allegedly blocked by the youths.
According to Umoh, the incident occurred shortly after Obi and his entourage arrived in Benue State.
She wrote: “We have just arrived in Benue State, where alleged sponsored thugs have blocked Boko Road by the Air Force Base, attempting to prevent Peter Obi from gaining access into the state.”
