The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated his deputy and the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on his 62nd birthday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Friday, praised his ‘trusted, competent and dedicated’ deputy for his many years of committed and meritorious service to Lagos State and Nigeria.
The Governor described Dr. Hamzat, who turns 62 tomorrow, Saturday, as a trusted partner, dedicated public servant and committed family man, who is passionate about effective and impactful governance, humanity, and the growth and development of Lagos State.
He stated: “On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, family, the Government, and the people of Lagos State, as well as the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I celebrate my dear brother, friend, and reliable partner, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on his 62nd birthday.
“Dr. Hamzat is a trusted, courageous and passionate brother, friend, and dependable partner, whom we have worked closely and collaborated with for over seven years to deliver good governance and the dividends of democracy to millions of Lagosians.
“His commitment to public service and the development of Lagos State and Nigeria through various positions he has held in the past and his current role as Deputy Governor continues to inspire many.
“I am proud to have undertaken this leadership and governance journey with Dr. Obafemi Hamzat from 29th May 2019 to date, and I firmly believe that he will be a worthy successor as the 16th Governor of Lagos State.
“Dr. Hamzat is an administrator of exceptional quality, a seasoned technocrat and politician, hardworking, supportive, trustworthy, and a dedicated partner. He is tested, trusted and adjudged to be competent. He possesses the capacity to lead Lagos State.
