One thing mothers rarely joke about is the safety and well-being of their children. This is as popular Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has taken to social media to raise concerns about the welfare of her children, who live with her ex-husband, Mutairu Atanda Orilowo.
In a video shared on social media, the actress called out her former husband, stating that all she wants is for her children to be safe. She also alleged that her ex-husband has refused to allow the children to stay with her.
She wrote: “This is a difficult call. However, at this point, every necessary step needs to be taken and valuable intercession sought. All I want is my children’s safety.
“My baby father has refused the children to be with me. This is a sad reality for me because my boys are not with me.
“My worries are my kids being with another woman that is not treating them well. As God will have it, I was recently on the phone with my children and there was an argument in the house of the baby father with his wife and some of his children and mine.
“And I heard the wife telling one of the boys in the house to strangle my children’s necks instead of beating them where the scars would be seen by their father.”
For those who may not know, Laide Bakare married her second husband, Mutairu Atanda Orilowo, in 2013. The couple has two sons together. This followed her divorce from her first husband, Olumide Kunfulire, in 2012.
There were speculations that the actress had married for the third time after a video surfaced online in 2023, appearing to show a marriage proposal. However, Bakare later clarified that the man in the video was her colleague and that the proposal scene was from a movie titled Oko Laide.
