Popular Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede has publicly criticized former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke over the corruption allegations against her.
Taking to her Instagram story, Jegede shared a photo of the ex-minister and slammed her.
She wrote: “Wicked woman. Greedy woman. This isn’t an it-girl story—this is what happens when Nigeria’s ruling class has mastered one thing: turning public funds into private luxury. At least the style is consistent.”
Alison-Madueke, who served between 2010 and 2015, has faced multiple allegations including the diversion of billions of dollars in oil revenues, money laundering through international financial systems, and awarding contracts for personal gain. Authorities also allege that illicit funds were used to acquire luxury properties and assets abroad.
She has been investigated by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other international agencies, and has faced charges in Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In 2023, UK authorities filed bribery-related charges against her.
Alison-Madueke has denied all allegations, and legal proceedings remain ongoing across multiple jurisdictions, with asset recovery efforts and court cases still in progress.
