Koko, the headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, came alive with political energy as the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a massive grassroots turnout at its e-registration sensitisation programme, hosted by the Executive Chairman of Warri North Local Government, Hon. Festus Anirejuoritse Ashima, in conjunction with party stakeholders.
The event, which drew party faithful, ward leaders, youths, women groups and community supporters from across the local government area, was organised to mobilise members for the APC e-registration exercise and to further strengthen the party’s grassroots structure through an accurate and inclusive digital membership database.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Ashima described the overwhelming turnout as a strong signal that the APC remains firmly rooted among the people of Warri North.
He said the e-registration exercise was a strategic political tool designed to consolidate the party’s base, deepen internal democracy and ensure that committed grassroots members are properly captured and recognised within the party structure.
He urged party supporters at ward and unit levels to take ownership of the registration process, stressing that a strong, united and well-organised grassroots remains the backbone of any winning political movement.
State government officials who attended the programme included the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development (Girl Child and Humanitarian Affairs), Miss Orode Uduaghan, and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Isaac Wilikie.
They applauded the leadership of the APC in Warri North for prioritising grassroots engagement and called on women and youths to seize the opportunity presented by the e-registration exercise to become more active participants in party politics.
Also present were key APC leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Fred Martins, Member representing Warri North in the Delta State House of Assembly; Chief Solomon Arenyeka; Chief Otimeyin Adams, former council chairman; Hon. Aduge Okorodudu; and the Vice Chairman of Warri North Local Government, Mrs. Bisina Florence, all of whom charged party members to remain united and loyal to the party’s ideals.
Others in attendance were Chief Lucky Tiemo; the APC Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Omatseye Akatakpo; Hon. Nicolas Afele, Director of Research at DESOPADEC; and Hon. Sunny Ofe, DESOPADEC Representative for the Itsekiri ethnic nationality, who reiterated the need for sustained grassroots mobilisation and political discipline.
The sensitisation programme ended with renewed calls for unity, aggressive grassroots mobilisation and continuous engagement as the APC intensifies efforts to consolidate its political strength in Warri North and across Delta State.
