Beejay Dereel Emerges As One Of Nigeria’s Promising New Afrobeats Voices

Rising Nigerian Afrobeat singer, songwriter and executive producer, Beejay Dereel, is steadily carving a niche for himself in the country’s competitive music industry with a sound that combines youthful energy, rhythmic percussion, smooth melodies and distinctive vocal textures.

Born on May 11, 2006, and based in Lagos, Beejay Dereel discovered his passion for music at an early age and began pursuing it professionally at just 14. His career officially gained wider momentum in 2024 when he began releasing music across major digital platforms.

His music reflects the experiences and aspirations of a new generation, touching on themes ranging from street hustle and romance to ambition, personal struggles and youthful determination.

As the founder and creative force behind Just For Akolac Music Incorporation (JFA Music), Beejay has also demonstrated an interest in the business and production sides of the industry. His growing catalogue began attracting underground attention with his 2024 debut single, “Everyday,” as well as a guest appearance on Blavk ize’s “Locked Up.”

He continued his artistic progression in 2025 through a collaboration with Blavk ize on the EP “Back in 19,” which featured street-oriented tracks including “Street Light” and “Shadow Gang.” Later that year, he explored a more emotional dimension of his artistry with “Broken Up (Deluxe),” featuring Shegun Courtesy and Yungkizi.

The young artiste has entered 2026 with renewed momentum, releasing a series of songs that point to a developing and increasingly confident sound. He opened the year with “All In” in January, followed by the rhythm-driven “Yami” in April.

In September 2026, Beejay Dereel released his latest single, “My Hoe,” an Afrosounds record that further showcases his evolution as both a vocalist and an independent producer.

With a growing catalogue and an expanding audience, Beejay Dereel represents a fresh generation of Nigerian independent artistes seeking to make their voices heard beyond the local scene.

As he continues to develop his craft and expand his musical footprint, the young Lagos-based artiste is positioning himself as one of the emerging names to watch in Nigeria’s evolving Afrobeat and Afrosounds landscape.

His music is available across major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, where listeners can follow his latest releases and continuing musical journey.
