Nigeria’s richest woman, Folorunso Alakija has cried out to Nigerians over a WhatsApp message linking her to an organisation – “Helping Hands Investment” which is asking people for donations on the social media.

The Famfa Oil boss took to her Instagram page on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 to dissociate herself from the organisation.

She wrote; “It has been brought to my attention that a monetary solicitation message associating me with Helping Hands Investment has recently been circulated on WhatsApp via these phone numbers: 090 1547 7067; 0701 786 6084.”

“Please note that these messages did not originate from me and I have no dealings with the said initiative or organisation. I do not solicit for funds on social media. I have also never called for donations to be made for initiatives I support through any social media platform or channel.”

“Although I have an active presence on social media, my posts and communication are made through my verified pages.”

“Messages from platforms that have used my image and name should be reported as fake accounts as soon as you realise they do not have the verified tick.”

“I implore you to disregard these messages as the senders are impersonating me. Please beware of such impersonations and schemes that dubiously extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.”

“Our security experts are also investigating the matter. PLEASE BEWARE!!!”
