Brodashaggi, Sola Sobowale Shine In New Glo Advert

Sola Sobowale is up in arms against Brodashaggi, her erstwhile driver who dares to make a marriage proposition to her daughter in a new hilarious and educative television commercial from the stable of telecommunications giant, Globacom.

It is replete with humour, drama, and the confidence in new possibilities displayed by Brodashaggi who tries to stretch his luck by making the marriage proposition.

Featuring the ever feuding duo of Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G and Sobowale with their daughters, Uche and Liz alias “Smallie”, as well as Wale Akorede, Okunnu, the TVC enumerates the benefit of online advertising as an avenue to gain wealth and prosperity by business owners.

Sobowale’s ex- driver, Wasiu, played by Brodashaggi is seen enjoying a bottle of champagne as he placed a video call through to Uche, Mama G’s daughter.

He demands to speak with Sobowale’s daughter on Uche’s phone, apparently to avoid his former employer’s wrath.

Unfortunately for him, as Uche takes the phone to “Smallie”, Sobowale intercepts the device and on seeing Wasiu’s video image exclaims, “Eh, eh, Wasiu, video call? Oga gan o!”

Brodashaggi nervously pours his champagne on himself seeing Sobowale’s image on the phone. Brazenly, he salutes and shares his success story. “Mummy, mummy! With Glo 4G, I can now upload my cars online, sell and make plenty, plenty profit. That’s what they call me now, the new mega online car dealer!”.

Pleasantries over, Sobowale asks, “why you wan see me?” and a hesitant Brodashaaggi quips: “your daughter; I want to marry her!”.

This marriage proposition provokes Sobowale who in her characteristic hyper ire screams and queries Brodashaggi’s sanity before dramatically smiting his video image on the phone. Wale Akorede known as Okunnu who coincidebtally is at the scene and is obviously familiar with Brodashaggi’s background, also wonders whether “they are frying dodo on his head”, a local slang meant to query Brodashaggi’s sanity.

Brodashaggi feels the whiff of Sobowale’s volcanic temper as he falls off his seat with the strokes to his video image from the other end as the TVC closes.

The commercial shot is another uniquely theatrical message which the company employs to underscore the value of Glo 4G in 60seconds.
