Contrary to claims that Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, supported his growth and contributed to his NGO, social media activist, VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse) has publicly denied the reports.
Speaking in an online video, VeryDarkMan said: “Let me take you guys on a stroll. Make una see the room wey OBO booked for me. VeryDarkMan in Lagos. Don’t play.”
He added: “Any time I say something about Davido and people around him record it, some people will say, ‘After all what Davido has done for you. Davido flew you to Lagos, Davido contributed to your NGO,’ and all those things.”
Addressing the claims, VeryDarkMan said he personally paid for his flight ticket and accommodation during his visit to Lagos to meet Davido, adding that the narrative was left that way for entertainment purposes.
He said: “They said Davido contributed to your NGO. That’s not true. I never asked him to make any contribution. He was the one who said he wanted to do something, and I never asked him. Ask David if I have ever collected N1,000 from him since he has known me.”
