The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally reacted to a viral poster that falsely declared popular comedian and skit maker, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus, wanted over alleged fraud.
The controversy erupted after a poster, purportedly issued by the commission, surfaced online, boldly displaying Sabinus’ image and branding him wanted.
The notice reads; “The public is hereby notified that Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, who appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence. Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the commission.”
However, in a swift response via its official X handle (formerly Twitter), the EFCC dismissed the poster as completely fake, slamming its creator with a blunt warning: “Clout chaser, stop this now!”
