Former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has been sentenced to 75 years in prison by the Federal High Court in Abuja over the misappropriation of public funds amounting to about N33.8 billion.
The case was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, which accused Mamman of conspiracy and money laundering involving funds earmarked for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects.
The judgment marks a significant escalation in the case, following an earlier ruling in which the court dismissed Mamman’s no-case submission and ordered him to enter his defence.
