In the new TVC, Allison plays the role of a talkative trader. She calls her daughter (acted by Yvonne Jegede) in the morning and remains on the call throughout the day.

The call continues until all other traders close for the day without realizing that other shop owners have closed. The TVC which is already running on popular TV channels shows that when customers complained about the incessant chatter, Allison (Amebo) gleefully retorts, “Na you be Glo wey dey dash me credit anyhow?”

The television commercial depicts that Glo subscribers can now talk ad infinitum with family and friends with the new Glo Amebo offer. It is a humongous quantum of talk time offered on the Globacom network which allows subscribers to call all networks.

Originally, “Amebo” was an Urhobo word “avwebo“, favourite wife in a polygamous home and the talebearer in the family who keeps the husband abreast of happenings and gossips.

The TVC asked subscribers wishing to enjoy the benefits to recharge with 555PIN# to get five times the value of whatever recharge they make. The offer is available on all recharges.
