Members and coordinators of the Hot Striker support structure converged in Ota, Ogun State, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, for a general meeting focused on grassroots mobilisation and political engagement ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
The meeting, which commenced at 10:00 a.m. at Providence Events Centre, opposite NEPA Rosco Bus Stop, along Idi-Iroko Road, Ota, brought together coordinators, canvassers, executives and other stakeholders from various local government areas across Ogun State.
According to the organisers, each coordinator was expected to attend with five canvassers from their respective units, while members were also instructed to come along with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), underscoring the group’s emphasis on grassroots voter mobilisation and participation.
The gathering was convened under the leadership of State Coordinator, Hon. Okoya Babatunde, with other state executives including State Women Leader, Hon. Monsurat Adebayo, and State Organising Officer, Comrade Lateef Babanla.
Representatives from several local government areas were also listed among the coordinating structure, including Ado-Odo/Ota, Ifo, Ewekoro, Obafemi Owode, Abeokuta North, Yewa North, Yewa South and Ijebu Ode.
The Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government executive structure includes Comrade Sheriff Ayedogbon as Youth Leader, Hajia Rasaq Oluwasola as Public Relations Officer, Raji Lukman as Secretary, Kehinde Akapo as Women Leader, Comrade Gbemileke as Assistant Youth Leader, Odebunmi Mariam as Organising Secretary and Agunbiade Rotimi as Deputy Coordinatand
Also associated with the mobilisation structure is Ambassador Muinat Iyacairo, described as the Entertainment and Music Director.
Notable personalities such as Hon. Ibrahim Obanla and veteran journalist and multifaceted media personality, Sean Polotee, who were warmly received by the Convener, Hon. Babatunde Okoya, and members of the Hot Striker team.
The meeting also served as a platform to articulate support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West in the Senate and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun election following the party’s 2026 selection process.
Speaking through the mobilisation narrative of the gathering, the organisers described Yayi as a resilient public servant whose political career has spanned the Lagos State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate. His supporters point to his legislative experience and years of representation as part of the basis for their call for continued support for his political aspiration.
The organisers further presented their support for Yayi as being rooted in what they described as his record of service and interventions for constituents and communities. His official campaign profile similarly highlights more than two decades of legislative service and projects and empowerment initiatives across Ogun State.
The meeting therefore combined political coordination with grassroots organisation, with participants expected to strengthen communication within their respective units and local government areas.
The presence of Sean Polotee added a media and entertainment dimension to the gathering, reflecting the organisers’ effort to bring together political mobilisation, community engagement and personalities from different sectors.
As the 2027 political season approaches, the Hot Striker team says its grassroots structure remains committed to mobilising its members and supporters across Ogun State in line with its stated political objectives.
