“I Stayed In My Friend’s House For Eight Years As A Governor” – Aregbesola

Former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has stirred conversations among Nigerians after disclosing that he spent his entire eight-year tenure as governor living in a friend’s house.

He made the claim in a video that emerged online on Thursday during an address to his supporters.

He said: “I’m the first governor in Nigeria to rule a state for eight years without owning a house of my own.”

“I stayed in my friend’s house for eight years as a governor in my father’s land. Whoever says that what I’m saying is not true should come out and show me the house I own.”

Aregbesola served as the governor of Osun State from 2010 to 2018 before being appointed Minister of Interior by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
