Years after claiming to be a family friend of popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh and her then-husband, Olakunle Churchill, actress Rose Meurer, who was widely alleged to be Tonto’s best friend, has made a shocking confession.
According to Meurer, she was forced to make the earlier claim. She disclosed this in a post shared on her Instagram page.
She wrote; “I was forced to lie. You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made in fear due to the fact that I was so young and innocent.
“I was dragged into violence by force. With all the pressure then, the PR team will make you say many things even if you don’t feel it is right. Right now, whatever I say is the real truth. I am now older and wiser.
“No PR team can force me to say what they believe is better than my truth. If you like, bring videos from 1,000 years ago. It does not change my reality.”
Before Tonto Dikeh and Churchill’s marriage crashed like a pack of badly arranged cards, Meurer had claimed to be a family friend of the couple. According to her at the time; “Churchill and his wife remain family to me. We once hung out together before.”
However, in a recent video posted on Instagram, Meurer denied ever knowing Tonto Dikeh or being her best friend, contrary to widespread speculation.
For those unfamiliar with the controversy, Meurer was accused of snatching Tonto Dikeh’s husband. It will be recalled that Tonto Dikeh and Churchill divorced in 2017 amid allegations of his extramarital affair with Meurer.
