The Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF), in partnership with the Yunus Emre Institute, Abuja, is set to host a Turkish–Nigerian Poetry Gathering themed “Peace in the Language of Poetry”, a cultural event aimed at fostering peace, friendship, and intercultural dialogue through poetry.
The gathering, titled “Turkish–Nigerian Poetry Gathering/Şiirin Diliyle Barış – Türk–Nijerya Şiir Buluşması,” will bring together poets, literary enthusiasts, diplomats, creatives, and culture stakeholders from both countries to celebrate poetry as a universal medium of expression and unity.
According to the organisers, the event seeks to highlight the power of poetry in promoting mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and peaceful coexistence across borders. By creating a shared platform for Turkish and Nigerian poets, the gathering will showcase diverse poetic traditions while reinforcing common human values.
The poetry evening is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 4:00 pm, at the Abuja Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, located at 2 Nilakka Lake Close, Gurara Street, Maitama, Abuja.
Participants and guests will be treated to poetic performances and reflections that emphasize peace, dialogue, and the enduring bond between cultures.
Attendance is open to invited guests and members of the public with interest in poetry and cultural diplomacy.
