The fight between Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Arise TV news anchor, Rufai Oseni has taken another turn, with Olayinka firing fresh shots at the broadcaster and his colleague, Ayo Mairoese.
Olayinka reignited the controversy in a series of posts on X on Wednesday, taking a swipe at Oseni, suggesting that Oseni should be appointed spokesperson for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Olayinka urged the NDC to unveil its Presidential Campaign Council list, claiming that doing so would allow Oseni to officially assume the role.
“Peter Obi’s NDC should release its Presidential Campaign Council so that Rufai Oseni can officially assume his position as Spokesperson. Ko ju bee lo,” Olayinka wrote.
But Olayinka did not stop at Oseni. He also turned his attention to Mairoese, Oseni’s colleague and co-anchor on Arise TV’s Morning Show, over her comments concerning his inclusion in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Directorate of Media and Strategic Communications.
He wrote; “Of all the people whose names were published yesterday as members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Directorate of Media and Strategic Communications, @ayomairoese of @ARISEtv Morning Show only saw Lere Olayinka.”
“I hope this one dey sleep well with her husband on top Lere Olayinka’s ‘No Gree For Anybody’s’ style like this,” he added.
The latest exchange adds another layer to the growing public tension between Olayinka and Oseni, with Mairoese now drawn into the dispute.
