These are difficult times for the family of late veteran Nollywood actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, as his wife and children have appealed to Nigerians for help.
The family opened up about the hardship they have been facing since the actor’s death. They shared their struggles during a visit by content creator, King Mitchy.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Ibu’s wife revealed the tough conditions the family is currently living in.
“We fetch water from a well because I have not been able to pay the house rent. Our electricity was disconnected two months ago, and we have been living without power since then. Every night, we have to look for places where we can charge our phones. It has not been easy,” she said.
Also appealing for support, one of Mr. Ibu’s daughters praised her mother for doing her best to take care of the family despite the challenges.
“I thank God for my mother. She has tried her best to feed us, pay our school fees, and keep us happy,” she said.
She further appealed to Nigerians, especially those who worked with her late father in the entertainment industry, to come to the family’s aid.
“If you were in the industry with my dad and you can see what we are going through now, please come and help us,” she pleaded.
For those who don’t know, Mr. Ibu died on March 2, 2024, after suffering a cardiac arrest. Before his death, the actor underwent a leg amputation in November 2023 following a prolonged illness that required multiple surgeries.
