Federal lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti, has raised an alarm after she was reportedly prevented from traveling at an international airport.
The senator, who has been in a running dispute with the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, accused him of instructing officials to seize her passport.
In a viral video released on Tuesday, Senator Akpoti said: “After marking my second year in office, I decided to take a week off, but my passport is being withheld again, just like the last time.”
“I have committed no offense, and there is no court order authorizing the seizure of my passport or restricting my travel.”
“The last time this happened, the officer in charge told us that Senate President Godswill Akpabio had instructed them to withhold my passport and stop me from traveling.”
