Uchechi Kanu, the wife of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has dismissed reports claiming that she has filed for divorce.
The rumour alleged that Uchechi ended the marriage because of years of alleged infidelity, financial neglect and interference from Kanu’s family.
Reacting to the claim in a post on her X page, Uchechi laughed off the report, suggesting it was false.
She wrote: “Good conscious evening, my blessed Biafrans. I have just learned that I filed for divorce while my husband is in prison.” followed by several laughing emojis.
The report had claimed that she decided to end the marriage after allegedly enduring years of emotional pain caused by Kanu’s alleged extramarital affairs and other family issues.
However, Uchechi’s reaction indicates that there is no truth to the divorce claim.
For those who may not know, Nnamdi Kanu and Uchechi got married in 2009.
