Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has strongly criticized the Nigerian government under President Bola Tinubu, stating that any administration unable to guarantee the security of lives and property has no right to exist.
Obasanjo made this remark while reacting to the persistent insecurity across the country, faulting Tinubu’s government for failing to effectively tackle the crisis.
He said; “Let me tell you, a government that cannot ensure the security of lives and property of its citizens has no right to exist.”
He also criticized members of the National Assembly, adding; “Elected lawmakers have no right to fix their own salaries and emoluments. It is not provided for in the constitution. That responsibility lies with the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission.”
