Former Delta State governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has dropped a bombshell that is sure to raise eyebrows.
Okowa has revealed that he knew beforehand that he and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would lose the 2023 presidential election.
The former governor made the startling revelation at a recent event in his home state, Delta, where he opened up about his expectations ahead of the poll.
According to Okowa, he was so convinced of the outcome that he even told Christian leaders he met with before the election that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious, while the PDP would finish second and the Labour Party third.
He said: “I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC would win, while PDP would come second and then Labour Party would come third.”
The revelation is coming years after the election and has sparked fresh interest in what Okowa knew about the political contest before Nigerians headed to the polls.
