Otuaro Hails Tompolo’s Doctorate As Testament To His Niger Delta Impact

Congratulatory messages continue to pour in following the conferment of an honorary Doctorate Degree on High Chief Government Ekpomupolo (Tompolo) by Edwin Clark University.

Among the well-wishers is the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, H.E. Dcn. Barr. Kingsley B. Otuaro, who described the award as a deserving tribute to Tompolo’s years of dedicated service to the Niger Delta.

Otuaro, in a statement, praised Tompolo for representing courage, leadership, and commitment to the upliftment of communities across the region.

He said the university’s recognition is a direct reflection of Tompolo’s consistent sacrifices and life-long work in peacebuilding and development.

He observed that Tompolo has shaped national discussions, created opportunities for many young people, and shown that true leadership lies in impact.

According to him, the award further establishes the revered Ijaw leader among highly regarded national figures.

Otuaro said the honorary degree also reinforces the values of people-centred development, cultural preservation, and the pursuit of justice.

He expressed optimism that the honour would expand Tompolo’s influence and motivate young Niger Deltans to follow his example.

“Congratulations, my dear brother. This honour is well earned, and greater victories lie ahead,” Otuaro stated.

Analysts note that the award underscores Tompolo’s enduring role in regional stability, development, and cultural identity.
