Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Knocks Tinubu Over Second-Term Ambition

The Founder and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, popularly known as Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, has expressed reservations about President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said the current administration has not shown the level of leadership needed to solve Nigeria’s problems. He urged the president to step aside and allow more capable people to lead the country.

According to him: “The government has not provided the kind of leadership Nigerians need. It should allow more competent people to take over and move the country forward.”

He said Nigeria appears to be moving in the wrong direction, with many citizens struggling to survive and seeing little hope for a better future.

“People are facing hardship every day. Instead of making things better, this government has caused more problems. It should not be given another chance to continue on the same path.”

Oritsejafor also advised President Tinubu to honestly assess his performance before deciding to seek re-election.

“If the president knows he cannot bring meaningful change to the country, he should not contest for another term.”

He further questioned the credibility of recent election results, claiming that many Nigerians no longer believe their votes count.

“Many people see election outcomes as already decided before voting takes place. The electoral system does not fully reflect the will of the people.”

The respected cleric said that if he had the opportunity to meet President Tinubu face-to-face, he would openly tell him that his administration has not performed well enough and should either step aside or support people who can transform the country.

He added that the church will continue to speak on national issues and hold leaders accountable for the benefit of Nigerians.
