The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has taken its campaign on the policies and reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to communities across the 25 local government areas of the state.
Delta State Coordinator of the RHA, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, disclosed this while briefing former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on the organisation’s grassroots sensitisation campaign in Asaba on Wednesday.
Solomon, who is also Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Oborevwori, said the outreach had brought the Federal Government’s reforms and the state government’s programmes closer to the people, enabling stakeholders and community groups to gain better understanding of the policies.
He said the exercise, coordinated through the three senatorial districts and 25 local government areas, had attracted political leaders, community stakeholders, organised groups, professionals, youths, women and students.
According to him, the engagements focused on explaining the rationale behind some of the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration and their reported impact on the economy and different sectors of society.
Solomon said the campaign had also increased awareness of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), particularly among students and families seeking support to meet the cost of higher education.
“Our engagements with stakeholders in the 25 LGAs have been massive. We have met with organised groups including NULGE, NUT, NBA, NMA, student bodies in higher institutions, support groups and other critical stakeholders,” he said.
He said the RHA would sustain the grassroots campaign through further engagements with community leaders, organised labour, professional bodies, artisans, women and youth groups, students and religious organisations.
Solomon said the coordinators had been equipped with relevant information to enable them explain government policies and programmes at the grassroots, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.
The meeting was attended by the three senatorial coordinators — Chief Patrick Ukah, Delta North; Chief Lucky Akarogbe, Delta South; and Chief Steve Sokoh, Delta Central — as well as the 25 local government coordinators.
Responding, Okowa, who is the RHA South-South Coordinator, commended Solomon and the coordinators for taking the campaign to the grassroots and urged them to sustain the engagements.
He also pledged to provide support and necessary tools to strengthen the coordinators’ activities across the state.
