Ibadan-based social activist and philanthropist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has continued to receive encomium and commendation, following his boys’ show of courage to protect the Sanyo and Agugu Police Stations amid other government owned properties in the state from destruction by hoodlums.

Sunday Igboho, responding to questions  whether his boys were paid before embarking on the community service of safeguarding the police stations and other properties, he said; “My boys were not given a dime before carrying out the notable tasks of protecting government’s properties against the hoodlums.”

The philanthropist who is currently out of the country further revealed that; “It was an instruction given to my boys that triggered their readiness and quick response to protect Sanyo and Agugu Police Stations against the hoodlums in guise of protesters with ulterior motive to vandalize police stations and other properties in Ibadan.”

“My instructions and directives to the boys were premised on the information I received that the hoodlums are parading themselves as protesters whose motives and aims are quite different from the EndSARS protest.”

“Oyo State and Nigeria at large belong to all and it is the responsibility of all patriots and good lovers of democracy to protect the system and everything that is associated with the system of the government.”

“We can’t fold our arms seeing things being destroyed by agents of darkness whose motives are not in line with the real and identified protesters with clear mission.”

“Protesters should be peaceful and law abiding in their protests to seek for their demands, protest is known by democracy but needs to refrain from violence and lawlessness.”

“I am appealing to the governments to see and implement the youths’ demands which had initially triggered the uncontrollable protest and spread of violence across the country.”

“Youths are very important for the development of a nation and their roles towards the national development cannot be over emphasised.”
