The Macallan, the world renowned single malt Scotch whisky, has officially unveiled award-winning singer, songwriter and cultural icon Adekunle Gold as its Brand Ambassador in Nigeria, marking the formal beginning of a partnership built on shared values of craftsmanship, excellence, legacy and intentional creativity.
The announcement follows the successful nationwide unveiling of The Macallan’s Timeless Collection across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, and signals a new chapter in the brand’s cultural journey within Nigeria.
The official unveiling took place during The Macallan Timeless Collection launch held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at The Anthonia by Civic Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, where guests from across entertainment, business, culture, and media gathered for an immersive evening celebrating the introduction of the brand’s redesigned Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections. What many experienced as an unforgettable evening of whisky, music, and storytelling also became the public reveal of a partnership that had been quietly taking shape over the past year.
The relationship between The Macallan and Adekunle Gold has evolved through a series of carefully curated cultural moments that began in April 2025 with an intimate Coco Money dinner party hosted at Kaly Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos, further evolved in July through The Macallan’s seamless integration into Adekunle Gold’s Coco Money music video and its accompanying launch experience, before extending into his Fuji album release celebrations in October, where the brand continued to strengthen its presence within Nigeria’s music, lifestyle and creative ecosystem. Over time, what began as subtle cultural alignment evolved into a natural partnership grounded in authenticity, artistry and a shared commitment to creating experiences that endure.
Speaking on the partnership, Adekunle Gold said, “This partnership is rooted in shared values, craftsmanship, excellence, legacy, class and the beauty of taking time to create something meaningful. Everything I create, whether through music, culture or storytelling, is built with intention, and that is what makes this relationship with The Macallan feel both natural and deeply authentic. We both understand that timeless work is never rushed, and I am excited about what we will build together.”
For The Macallan, the partnership reflects a deliberate alignment with voices whose journey, discipline and cultural influence naturally embody the values the house has represented for generations.
Speaking on the significance of the partnership, Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager, Nigeria and West and Central Africa at Edrington, said, “Adekunle Gold embodies many of the values that have defined The Macallan for over two centuries. He is intentional, culturally influential, creatively fearless and deeply committed to excellence in his craft. Over the past year, we have watched this relationship evolve organically through meaningful cultural moments, and formalising this partnership feels both natural and strategically aligned with how we continue to build The Macallan in Nigeria.”
As Brand Ambassador, Adekunle Gold will play a central role in shaping The Macallan’s cultural storytelling in Nigeria through a series of curated consumer experiences, creative collaborations, hospitality engagements and content led initiatives designed to deepen the brand’s connection with a new generation of discerning luxury consumers.
With this partnership, The Macallan continues to strengthen its cultural relevance in Nigeria, proving that true luxury is not simply defined by heritage, but by the people, stories and experiences that bring that heritage to life.
