The New Year festivities were marked by controversy involving popular singer, Portable and his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
Reports allege that a disagreement erupted between the duo during Ashabi’s visit to the singer on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his bar in Ogun State. The situation reportedly escalated into a fight.
A viral video from the incident shows Ashabi visibly upset, expressing frustration over being referred to solely as Portable’s baby mama and insisting she should be recognised as his wife.
In the clip, Portable is heard responding that he has only one wife, while others are regarded as baby mamas.
Following the incident, Ashabi addressed the matter in a video shared on Instagram, offering her account of events.
She stated that she had initially been celebrating the New Year with her family before Portable contacted her, expressing that he was in a bad mood and asking her to visit.
According to Ashabi, a disagreement occurred during the visit, which she said escalated into an altercation. She further alleged that she and her family members were subjected to intimidation during the incident.
However, Ashabi and her siblings was said to have reported the incident to the police over allegations of assault and abuse, but the singer reportedly evaded arrest.
