Wike’s Son Denies Involvement in Alleged $2.1 Million Abuja Land Deal

Jordan Wike, son of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has denied involvement in an alleged $2.1 million Abuja land deal.

Jordan, a lawyer, was accused of agreeing to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape for $2.1 million, but allegedly failed to provide the land or refund the money.

However, while testifying before an FCT High Court, Jordan denied receiving any money or signing any document relating to the alleged land transaction. He also told the court that the signature on the disputed document was forged.

Jordan further denied knowing the claimants, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, and said he was outside Nigeria at the time they alleged the payment was made.

Testifying in the suit marked CV/008/2026, he said: “I did not receive any money from anybody. I did not sign any document for land deal. I only found out that my signature was on the land document just like anyone else in this court yesterday (Tuesday).

“I never had any friend named Onor Sandy and I did not have any deal with anyone regarding land deal.”

Jordan told the court that he was in London on September 26, 2025, when the claimants alleged the payment was made. He also produced a photocopy of his American passport, stating that the passport number contained on the disputed document had expired in 2022.

A police investigation report attached to his filings reportedly stated that the claimant failed to provide sufficient evidence of the alleged payment. The report also recommended prosecution over alleged defamation, false information and attempted extortion.

The claimants, however, maintain their allegations.

Justice Silvanus Oriji adjourned the case to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of trial.
