Zee World has introduced three new exciting shows to its viewers. Available on DStv channel 166, the new shows Ring of Fire, Snatched and Jodha & Akbar represent an explosive start to Zee World’s line up for 2020.
Ring of Fire premiered with great fanfare on 31 January at 20h00 and introduced the Zee World audience to Shriti and Ragini, two girls who are both in love with Anurag. However, Shriti and Anurag are already promised to each other (by their families) but on their wedding day. Ragini gate crashes the ceremony with the help of her dubious father, Vikraal.
Chaos ensues and Ragini marries Anurag while Shriti settles for his younger, mentally unstable brother Vishu. Ragini however, is now trapped in loveless marriage and Shriti must deal with Vishu’s instability – both face insurmountable obstacles.
Snatched, which starts this Thursday (13 February) at 18:00, follows the lives of two friends, both named Ajay. When the one Ajay leaves the country, he asks his namesake and friend to enter into a contractual marriage with his girlfriend to avoid losing her. The marriage blossoms into love with a far-reaching ripple effect on all.
Jodhha & Akbar, premiering on Sunday, 1 March at 21:00 is the story of Jodha, a princess, who is forcefully married to king Akbar who conquered her father’s kingdom. She reluctantly goes to his palace only to find that she is one of many wives where she faces extreme opposition. Jodha must fight for her husband’s affection and hopes to ultimately transform him into a more compassionate ruler. Jodhha & Akbar will also be available in Zulu to Southern African viewers.
