10 Years Without You: A Widow’s Emotional Remembrance & Journey Of Grace

0

Today, 19th October 2026, marks exactly ten long years since my beloved husband, Dr. Olusegun Emmanuel Afolabi, transitioned to glory. Ten years without the sound of your voice, your reassuring presence, your warm companionship, and the quiet comfort of knowing you were always by my side

Olusegun, life has marched forward, yet there are still quiet moments where I yearn for you to be here. I wish you were around to see how the family you left behind has grown and flourished

I wish I could share with you the growth of our business, the woman I have evolved into, and the foundation I established to comfort and support fellow widows and widowers.
In my quiet moments, I often wonder: If you could see me now, what would you say? Would you be proud of how far I have come?

I have wept. I have struggled. I have learned, grown, and fought battles I never imagined I would ever face without you. But through every storm, God’s grace has been my anchor

I cannot tell the story of these past ten years without glorifying God for His unfailing faithfulness. He carried me when my strength failed, and He gave me reasons to keep pushing forward when life felt overwhelming

Olusegun, you may no longer be here in the physical, but your legacy lives on, and you will forever remain a cherished part of my story

Ten years later, I still miss you deeply. I still remember you with love. And I still wish we had been given more time together

Today, I honor your memory, cherish the beautiful years we shared, and thank God for the rare privilege of loving you and being loved by you

To God alone be all the glory for the journey, the strength, and the divine grace to still be standing strong ten years later.
Rest peacefully in the arms of the Almighty, my dear husband.
Rest on, Olusegun.
