The quiet town of Ijero Ekiti came alive on Friday, September 26, 2025, as an unprecedented crowd of dignitaries from across Nigeria gathered to honour the life of High Chief Michael Abioudun Ajisafe, the late father of Dr. Lekan Ajisafe, Managing Director/CEO of Post Assurance Brokers Limited (Nigeria and the United Kingdom).

The three-day burial ceremony drew an impressive array of high-profile personalities, including the Senate Leader of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele; members of the diplomatic corps; political heavyweights; senior officers of the Nigerian Army; traditional rulers; ministers of the Federal Republic; and numerous title holders from across the country.
Speaking with our correspondent at the event, a guest, Mr. Ogunlusi, remarked on the grandeur and organization of the burial: “With the money spent and the way Lekan and his siblings organized their father’s burial today, I found myself praying to have children like them when my time comes.”
Pa Ajisafe was finally laid to rest in a specially built mausoleum within Dr. Lekan Ajisafe’s compound at Ajisafe Close, Ijero Ekiti — a final resting place he now shares with his late wife, Mrs. Alice Ajisafe. It was truly a glorious exit for the revered patriarch, whose life and legacy brought together a remarkable congregation of friends, associates, and well-wishers to celebrate his memory.
