Sunday Igboho Imprisoned In Benin Republic After Court Hearing

Information reaching us from Benin Republic has it that the Court D’Appal of Cotonou has now kept the acclaimed Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho in prison custody, pending further investigation.

We learnt that the Court rejected Nigeria’s request for Igboho’s immediate extradition on Monday, July 26.

According to our sources; “The Court was expected to start hearing the case at 10:00am, but began sitting at 5p.m after the police ejected Igboho’s supporters and journalists.”

“The session lasted till about midnight, when the court decided to hold Igboho in prison. The police brought Igboho to court as early as 7a.m to beat his crowd of supporters.”

“Igboho spent over 15 hours inside the prosecutor office as lawyers and the state argued whether to release him or further detain him. After long hours, the court decided to detain him further.”
