Alleged Cyberbullying: Angela Okorie Begs Mercy Johnson For Forgiveness

Popular Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie has issued a public apology to her colleague, Mercy Johnson Okojie, following allegations of defamation.

Okorie, was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after Mercy Johnson reportedly filed a petition accusing her of cyberbullying. She was subsequently remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre by an Abuja court before being granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Besides, Okorie was reportedly re-arrested over an alleged refusal to pay the lawyer who secured her bail from Suleja prison. According to sources, she was taken back into custody on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at the Suleja prison, shortly after she was released on bail.

However, in a heartfelt video message shared online, Okorie, pleaded for forgiveness from Mercy Johnson, her children, and family, admitting her shortcomings and expressing deep remorse.

She said; “This video is specifically for Mercy, her kids, and her family. I am not perfect, and I want to apologize. For my words, anything I have written, or anytime your name came up on social media, I am deeply sorry.”

She added; “You are not a witch. You are not what people are calling you. I just want peace. Our children may meet and become friends, and as mothers, we cannot stop that.”

“I do not condone bullying, and I apologize for anything I may have done or said against you, knowingly or unknowingly. This is a new beginning. You are my friend, and I will never listen to gossip about you again. I love you, and I pray that God blesses and lifts you higher.”
