Popular Lagos prophet and Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Global, Dr Chris Okafor, popularly known as the Generational Prophet of God, has joined eminent Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to celebrate Nigeria as the nation marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
In his Independence Day message, the renowned man of God congratulated Nigerians for their resilience, patience and faith in the country despite the prevailing socio-economic and security challenges.
Dr Chris Okafor called on Nigerians to remain united and continue to pray fervently for the survival and growth of the nation’s democracy, stressing that the future of Nigeria depends largely on the unity and prayers of its citizens.
The Generational Prophet also urged Nigerians to support efforts by the government to restructure the country for greater efficiency and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt at all levels, from the grassroots to the national stage.
According to him, Nigeria needs unity now more than ever to overcome insecurity, economic hardship and division, and reclaim its position as a leading modern nation in Africa.
“Prayer is necessary for deliverance to happen. Nigeria will be delivered when Nigerians genuinely pray. We must not relent in praying for this nation,” Dr Okafor declared.
The cleric described prayer as a powerful tool for national transformation, adding that no nation can rise above its spiritual foundation. He therefore called on churches, mosques and people of faith to intensify their prayers for Nigeria.
Dr Chris Okafor also offered special prayers for Nigerian leaders, from the Presidency to state governors, legislators and traditional rulers. He asked God to grant them wisdom, good health and the fear of God as they steer the affairs of the nation.
The Senior Pastor further encouraged Nigerian youths, whom he described as the engine room of national development, to shun violence, crime and other social vices and instead channel their energy into productive activities that will contribute to the growth of the country.
Despite the challenges facing the nation, Dr Okafor expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, noting that the country is richly blessed with human and natural resources capable of driving its development.
The Generational Prophet concluded by declaring a new dawn for Nigeria, with peace, economic recovery and divine restoration.
“Nigeria shall rise again. Our unity is our strength, and our prayer is our weapon,” Dr Chris Okafor added.
