In a move that has sent shockwaves across the nation, President Bola Tinubu has abruptly removed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, from his position.

Insiders reveal that the president had previously directed Egbetokun to resign, a directive reportedly delivered during a high-stakes meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
Appointed by Tinubu himself on June 19, 2023, Egbetokun became the 22nd IGP at the age of 58. He was originally slated to retire on September 4, 2024, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60. However, his tenure was extended by the President which stirred controversy.
Now, in a dramatic twist, Egbetokun has been replaced by Tunji Disu, an Assistant Inspector General of Police.
