It is deeply baffling to see individuals with myopic mindsets ranting on social media, spewing baseless opinions without balancing the facts. It makes one wonder if such people use common sense at all

A few weeks ago, certain content creators launched a smear campaign against a peaceful man of God, Prophet Oladele Israel Ogundipe, popularly known as Prophet Genesis, shepherd in charge of Genesis Global, Alakuko, Lagos

During a podcast hosted by one Alfa Sunnah, a guest named Okiki boldly claimed in Yoruba: “I know Genesis very well, Oni fire, Ori Iye motor to ni, ko da oni Ifa nile to n bo” alleging that Prophet Genesis secretly worships idols and keeps shrine gods in his closet

This short interview clip went viral without any regard for the massive damage it could inflict on the Prophet’s reputation, ministry, or followers all presented without a single shred of proof or evidence

In response, the media aide to Prophet Genesis, Oluwaseun Fabiyi, publicly refuted the interview as complete falsehoods and fabricated lies from the pit of hell. Prophet Genesis has nothing to do with idol worship

His ministry was founded on total submission, commitment, and humility before God the very reasons God continues to grant him unmerited grace and exceptional wisdom.

For those who do not know Prophet Genesis personally, he is a deeply humble man

He is transparent enough to walk visitors through his entire residence, including his master bedroom, to disprove baseless rumors

He frequently invites visitors and strangers to share meals with him at his table. Because he holds no ill feelings toward anyone and accommodates all who come to him, God has continued to enlarge his coast a reality that keeps bewildering his detractors

Attacking Prophet Genesis will always remain a waste of energy because God has elevated him far above those acting as principalities and powers

He has faced and conquered severe trials in the past, and he refuses to be distracted now.
Under the guise of “content creation,” some individuals hide behind screens to defame people they have never met. While the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) guarantees freedom of speech, that freedom is not absolute it ends where defamation, slander, and character assassination begin

Fabricating lies against an innocent citizen, a father, an uncle, and a spiritual leader overseeing over 10,000 congregants just to earn social media revenue is unacceptable. When you publicly allege wrongdoing against someone, you must be prepared to prove it in court

Consequently, Alfa Sunnah and his collaborator, Okiki, have been arrested and remanded in a correctional center, where they will have the opportunity to prove their allegations legally. Reputation built over decades cannot be dragged through the mud for viral clicks

Let this serve as a stern warning to all digital perpetrators: the hunter can easily become the hunted.

The court case continues

Watch out for the next hearing.
