The popular adage, “Every day is for the thief, but one day is for the owner,” has recently been used to describe the legal troubles involving Ibadan-based internet personality, Saheed Toyinbo, popularly known as Alfa Sunnah.

Toyinbo has reportedly faced allegations over online publications concerning prominent religious figures and other Nigerians. One of the recent cases involves allegations of defamatory publications concerning Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe (Genesis), Shepherd-in-Charge of Genesis Global.

According to reports, another cleric based in the Ogba, Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos State has also filed a separate petition over alleged online publications.

The allegations are matters for the courts to determine, and Toyinbo is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Following his recent court appearance, the court reportedly granted him bail subject to stringent conditions, including:

  • A recognised traditional ruler (Baale) as a surety, with a chieftaincy title recognised by the Lagos State Government and backed by landed property with a valid Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) in Lagos.
  • A Grade Level 12 or above civil servant employed by the Lagos State Government as a guarantor, subject to the conditions reportedly stipulated by the court.
  • A cash deposit of ₦3 million.

Reports indicate that Toyinbo was unable to meet the stated bail conditions and was subsequently remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

He is expected to remain in custody pending his next court appearance, reportedly scheduled for November 4, 2026.

The case remains before the court, and the allegations against Toyinbo have not been established as facts unless and until determined by a competent court.
