English Premier League giant, Chelsea Football Club is in hot soup as it has been charged with 74 breaches of Football Association (FA) regulations, according to an official statement released on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The alleged misconduct spans a period from 2009 to 2022, with the majority of violations said to have occurred between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons. The charges reportedly relate to financial dealings and regulatory non-compliance under the club’s previous ownership.
Chelsea have been given until September 19, 2025, to formally respond to the charges.
The FA’s investigation follows a review of documents submitted by the club’s current ownership, who took over in 2022 and self-reported potential irregularities discovered during a financial audit. The club is expected to cooperate with the authorities as the process unfolds.
If found guilty, Chelsea could face serious penalties, including fines, points deductions, or further disciplinary action depending on the outcome of the investigation.
