Nigerian music star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, sparked controversy weeks ago after declaring that he is bigger than Afrobeats legend, the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Wizkid’s statement followed a public clash with Seun Kuti, who accused the singer of stealing his nickname. In response, Wizkid claimed he was bigger than Fela, who is Seun Kuti’s father.
The remark triggered widespread outrage, drawing reactions from musicians, actors, activists, and social media users.
Weighing in on the controversy, Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, expressed displeasure, describing the comparison as disrespectful to Fela’s legacy and unfair to Wizkid.
2Baba made this known during a recent chat.
He said; “Comparing Fela with Wizkid is ridiculous. Apart from the fact that it is disrespectful to Fela, and at the same time, it is also unfair to Wizkid.”
