Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about his relationship with American R&B sensation, Chris Brown. The singer confessed that his meeting with the American star marked a turning point in his career.
Davido, made the revelation in an interview recently, explaining how a single encounter with Chris Brown in 2018 blossomed into a genuine friendship that has had a lasting impact on his music journey.
“Meeting Chris Brown changed my life,” Davido said. “I met him in 2018 through one of his best friends, who happened to be Nigerian. One day, his friend FaceTimed me while my song was playing in the background. I asked where he was, and he said he was at Chris Brown’s house.”
To Davido’s surprise, Chris Brown was not only familiar with his music but was dancing to it at that very moment. “He gave Chris the phone, and that was the first time we spoke,” Davido recalled.
A few months later, Davido traveled to the U.S. and met Chris Brown in person. “From the first time we linked up, we just naturally became friends,” he added.
Since then, the two artists have collaborated on multiple tracks and maintained a strong bond, blending Afrobeat and R&B sounds for global audiences.
